Goonellabah Medical Centre opened in March 1997 when three established local general practices amalgamated to provide a more comprehensive medical service. The centre is open 6 days a week. It has a team of doctors with back-up from nursing staff and various allied health professionals. A pathology collection centre is open weekdays. There is an area for casualties and urgent cases including the facilities necessary for management of acute injuries such as minor fractures and lacerations. Hospital-based investigations or admission can be arranged for Lismore and St Vincent's Hospitals. All areas have their own networked computer terminals for efficient communication and record keeping. Easy car parking, disabled access and an ambulance bay means GMC can cater for people with disabilities.
The air-conditioned and spacious waiting areas are designed for your comfort.
Comments are always welcome, as GMC is always looking to improve services.
At Goonellabah Medical Centre, it is important to make your health experience easier. From our reception staff to our nurses, doctors, medical students and our allied health professionals, we aim to provide you with a caring environment at all times. The principal doctors are Drs Ruth Tinker, David Guest and David Glendinning. Dianne Kerr has been our general manager since 2015. Our doctors work individually in their own practices and often have their own special interests. Included in our medical professionals, there are GP registrars who are fully trained doctors, specialising in General Practice, and medical students. Medical students are welcomed as education of new doctors is an important aspect of GMC and our doctors understand the need to provide a supportive environment in which to learn.
